Family Justice Services includes:
- Maintenance Enforcement Office: Offering enforcement of child and spousal orders and agreements;
- Social Work Unit: Offering parent education programs, supervised parenting time and exchange, and court-ordered parenting assessments;
- Child Support Service: Offering administrative calculation and recalculation of child support for parents; and,
- Family Law Unit: Offering support to people navigating the family law system.
The Opportunity
The Family Justice Services Branch is seeking an Executive Director to work collaboratively to support the delivery of essential family justice programs and services. Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Attorney General (ADAG) of the Justice Services and Tribunals Division, this role will be responsible for administering existing programs and developing new programs to help Saskatchewan residents navigate the complexities of separation and divorce. The role is also part of a dynamic team dedicated to enhancing services and driving key leadership and management initiatives within the Division.

As the Executive Director, you will:
- Provide leadership and strategic direction to the development of family law services and policies that address the needs of Saskatchewan residents;
- Foster a high-performing, inclusive workplace culture by building trust, equity, and collaboration, ensuring employee engagement and capacity to drive meaningful outcomes;
- Drive collaboration and innovation by cultivating strong relationships across programs and initiatives to enhance organizational efficiency and service delivery;
- Lead stakeholder engagement efforts with lawyers, the judiciary, and other key partners to assess and implement new family justice initiatives;
- Oversee child support enforcement processes, ensuring the effective collection of payments within Saskatchewan;
- Work collaboratively with other jurisdictions to facilitate international and interprovincial child support collection and prevent child abductions;
- Handle politically sensitive issues with discretion, managing correspondence, inquiries, and escalations from the media, MLAs, MPs, the Provincial Ombudsman, ministerial offices, and the public;
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Family Justice Services Branch, including budgeting, staffing, program development, and organizational structure; and,
- Work with residents of other countries and states to promote the collection of interjurisdictional child support and to prevent and respond to international child abductions.

- Knowledge of freedom of information and privacy legislation and its application within the justice sector; and,

This position is open to individuals with significant leadership and management experience, including but not limited to those who are members or eligible to become members of the Law Society of Saskatchewan.
Pay pursuant to the Government of Saskatchewan's Crown Counsel Compensation Structure is available for members or those eligible to become members of the Law Society of Saskatchewan. Please indicate in your application materials whether you meet this qualification.
Typically, the knowledge and competencies required for this position are acquired through:
- A degree in public administration, public policy, justice, law, or a related field of study.
- Experience in strategic planning, financial management, legislative development, and policy formulation within a government or public sector setting;
- Strong knowledge of public policy principles, government decision-making process, and legislative frameworks;
- Demonstrated ability to think critically and strategically, assessing complex issues and developing effective solutions;
- A track record of building, developing, and maintaining a strong professional network to foster innovation, collaboration, and effective policy implementation;
- Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams, stakeholders, and other levels of governments to advance priority files;
- Successful leadership of strategic initiatives, with a history of driving meaningful results and organizational impact; and,
- Experience leading, managing, and supervising within a unionized environment.

This position is classified as MCP10, and the salary will be within the MCP10 salary range. However, if the successful candidate is a lawyer, the salary will align with the Crown Counsel pay scale.
